I have a considerable amount of data relating to the surname variants Beakhust and Beakhurst. Currently the data is is in a variety of formats and much is not suited to putting online. On the other hand, if you wish to ask me about any of the data, please email me, and I will endeavour to extract such data as you may need. Equally, please contact me if you have found a reference that I may not have – it may be a newspaper cutting, a will, an advertisement, almost anything. Currently as a core collection I have copies of the following (for both names):
- England and Wales birth, marriage and death indexes 1837-2005
- Scotland birth, marriage and death indexes (actually only one reference found)
- Ireland civil registration birth, marriage and death indexes up to 1958
- A significant body of parish register entries dating back beyond 1750 (earlier records are scarce)
- USA social security death index entries (these stretch only from about ww2 to date)
- Most England and Wales census entries 1841-1911
- Scotland census entries.
- USA census entries up to 1940
- Military records
- London, Edinburgh, Belfast Gazette entries (mostly name changes and insolvencies, but some military entries – eg supplements listing persons awarded campaign medals.)
- Miscellaneous data from other sources.
- References to the public version of electoral registers
- Historical uk telephone books
- Other directories, including from usa
In a few cases I have compiled these data for my own study from copyright sources. Where that is the case I cannot provide (for example) lists or tables of this information, but I will attempt to answer any questions you may have. For more information about “one name studies” I suggest you turn to the website of the guild of one name studies.
